Within easy reach of Australia Zoo, the Glasshouse Mountains, Noosa & Sunshine Coast beaches, and great bushwalking including The Great Walk and Mary Cairncross’s rainforest paradise. Spend Saturday or Wednesday morning at the famous Eumundi Markets, or go boating or fishing on Lake Baroon. Easy access to the Mary Valley’s unique landscapes and the Kenilworth Cheese Factory.

Welcome to Bamboo Retreat
Bamboo Retreat is luxury Hinterland accommodation - a unique hideaway in which to unwind and renew.
Set on a secluded and peaceful forest ridge overlooking the Obi Obi Valley, Bamboo Retreat offers the chance to enjoy the simplicity of the Australian bush, and revive your senses in the fresh mountain air under open skies.
As soon as you arrive the quiet majesty of the towering gums that surround the retreat will transport you to a world far from the stress and pressures of your daily routines.
Bamboo Retreat has only one 4.5 star king studio suite - you will be the only guests and ensured of privacy.
To guarantee your comfort the unique rustic design and timber construction of the retreat offers elegant comfort complete with kitchenette, an indoor dining area, cosy wood fire, and a comfortable lounge room furnished with books, magazines and a wide selection of good music. The ensuite is complimented by locally made organic hair and body products, exquisite soaps and luxurious bath sheets.
On arrival you are invited to unwind and enjoy a complimentary gourmet cheese platter with a bottle of your preferred wine or champagne.
Lazy relaxed nights are guaranteed by indulging in a soak in the private hot tub/spa with a glass of wine under the stars.
The sumptuous king sized bed and fine linen ensure a great night’s sleep, and you will wake to a chorus of early morning birdsong. Steaming fresh bread will be delivered hot to the gazebo at your nominated time, and full continental breakfast provisions including yoghurt, orange juice and condiments, plus seasonal fresh fruit are provided.
The Retreat garden has its own gazebo for outdoor dining and relaxation, a BBQ and lounge chairs for soaking up the sun.
We invite you to enjoy the bush walks and native wildlife at your doorstep. However, we request that you kindly treat them with respect and leave only your footprints.
While some of our guests choose to fill their days by taking advantage of the broad range of attractions the area offers, others never leave the property – taking the chance to really relax and escape.
If you wish to sample our local restaurants we can make recommendations and organise bookings, or if you prefer to ‘stay-in’ we can provide BBQ platters complete with salads, bread rolls and all condiments.
On request we can also arrange massages and facials, fresh flowers and more - just ask!
We offer deluxe and honeymoon packages, and weekly rates for those who can spare the time to really relax.
The 50 acre Bamboo Retreat property borders 1000 acres of Maleny National Park. The serenity of the stately forest will allow you to leave more than roads and traffic behind and be soothed and relaxed by the purity of the surroundings and the simplicity of nature.
